Spotlight Performing Arts Center presents musical productions 12 times per year (new casts forming approx. every 4 weeks).  We have 3 classes to choose from and three different musicals rehearsing at all times.  Classes are on Tuesdays from 6-7:30 pm, Wednesdays from 6-7:30 pm or Fridays from 4-5:30 pm.  These productions are made up entirely of children and teens (ages 5 and older).  The children and teens rehearse for 15 weeks for an hour and a half each week.  After 15 weeks of rehearsal, they perform a a full musical production.  Children learn choreography, acting, singing and dancing techniques, and have a great time.  Spotlight focuses on raising a child's self-esteem.  All roles in the musicals are available.  Each student will be given a role where he/she can learn and grow, not only as a performer, but as an individual.

No preparation or previous experience is necessary to be a part of Spotlight's productions, but those auditioning for leading roles are asked to prepare a song to sing at the auditions.  Although it is not required to be enrolled in additional classes at Spotlight to be part of Spotlight's musicals, it is certainly recommended that those in musical productions are enrolled in dance, tumbling or vocal classes.  The more time a student spends on their art, the better they are and the faster they progress.  That being said, those enrolled in more classes at Spotlight, usually receive bigger roles in musicals, as they are usually more advanced.

Beauty and the Beast

A little about our programs...

Our productions are written specifically for our cast members.  Out program is to educate our students about musicals, plays, and movies in the most enjoyable manner possible.  During our rehearsals, our students learn singing, dancing, and acting techniques.  Our shows are not intended to copy original works, but are merely an educational review of the shows our students most enjoy.  We aim to instill a lifelong love of the performing arts into the hearts of all of our students.
